What causes skin shinyness and how can it be stopped?

Dry skin is defined as skin that is sensitive and looks dull, especially on the cheeks and around the eyes. The oil glands do not supply enough lubrication to the skin through oil secretion. As a result, the skin becomes dehydrated and wrinkles form.
Dry skin is dysfunctional skin that cannot keep itself moist and is the first sign of skin aging. In short, the dehydrated skin causes many skin troubles, whereas supple moist skin has a good balance of water and oil.
One of the two types of dry skin is skin that is lacking both water and oil. The characteristic of this type of skin is that you can see the dryness of the skin easily and it is smooth due to the dysfunctional oil glands not secreting enough oil; you cannot see the pores.
The other type lacks only water, not oil. The characteristic of this skin type is shininess. This "shininess" makes one think that the skin is oily, however the "shininess" actually indicates a lack of water under the skin. The oil glands are trying to keep the water inside the skin by creating a wall. This is a kind of "defense" if you will.
People who have this type of skin usually do not know that they have dry skin, and tend to exasperate their skin troubles by practicing inappropriate skin care. It is important to know if you lack water or oil, your skin type, and practice the correct regime of care.
What are the causes of dry skin? Dry skin could be due to, among other reasons, a genetic condition. Additional causes for dry skin are environmental factors such as exposure to UV, the air from air conditioners, very dry or humid weather, health conditions, inadequate care or practicing incorrect skin care, the last being the reason for the majority of people's skin problems.
Many men, in particular, do not take care of their skin. They falsely believe skin care is only for women, and that men do not need it. However, in reality, men need more skin care than women! Shaving in the morning is a great stress on skin. Going out into the sun and being exposed to UV rays without any aftershave lotion and other skin care treatments is sure to cause damage to your skin. Men really need careful skin care.
Even if you have supple skin now, a lack of adequate skin care will cause dry skin in the future.
What is incorrect skin care?
Incorrect skin care stems from not understanding your skin. If you don't know your skin type, that will of course lead to inappropriate skin care. It is good if you take care of your skin, but you may choose the wrong care regime for your skin type and this will cause skin problems.
For example, thinking that your skin lacks water but has too much oil, and practicing skin care for oily skin. People who make this mistake do not use any lotions or anything after washing their faces, which tends to spur on the creation of dry skin. In contrast, if you think that your skin lacks both oil and water, and apply a lot of cream, which contains oil, this will cause rashes.
The lipid between cells within the corneous layer blocks the vaporizing of moisture and natural moisture factors (NMF) control the amount of moisture within corneous cells. The top layer of the lipid layer retains protein and polysaccharides near the epithelium and gives softness to your skin. All of these factors are necessary for moist skin.
There are several ways of caring for dry skin; these include moisturizing, adding water and oil and increasing blood circulation (which vitalizes oil glands).
HILLS SPA focuses on moisturizing. The three key points to moisturizing are taking water in, keeping it and not to losing it. HILLS SPA employs treatments that are effective for all types of skin; protecting and promoting moist skin.
As far as moisturizing care, we concentrate on the natural moisturizing abilities of cells and the lipids between cells within the oil membrane and corneous. One of the natural functions of cells is to take in moisture and hold it, while the lipids between cells trap that moisture. The oil membrane then seals in the moisture, ensuring that it does not escape. Through our treatments, we enhance the benefits of each of these natural moisturizing processes.
For dehydrated skin, five different types of Hydroptimale, which have a high moisturizing and flexibility effect, will give you "a double moisturizing effect". The products will regenerate healthier skin.
In addition to HILLS SPA treatments, it is very important to practice effective skin care at home. Everyday-care is essential for healthy skin. Here are some tips. When washing your face do not scrub hard, this will certainly damage your skin. Also choose a face wash that contains moisturizer.
Additionally it is important to watch your diet. Drink water and abstain from spicy foods or alcohol, which cause an enlargement of the veins. This causes an increase in body temperature and makes the pores open, resulting in a loss of moisture.
Further, choose the correct cosmetics for your skin type. It is also important to use different amounts of lotion or cream for your U-zone and rather oily T-zone. If you do not know your skin type you should have your skin type checked. This, indeed, is the first key step in obtaining healthy moist

Reply:Oils in the skin sometimes secrete more than others.. It's just based on Skin type and the hydration of the skin. You're lucky you dont have incredibly dry skin. Since you are only getting it in your T Zone. You only need an oil control to disperse the oils evenly around your face. Try MAC Oil Control Lotion. It's incredible. The lotion provides oil control and moisture to the skin throughout the day. It helps to maintain a matte finish by controlling the dispersion of oil. It contains a combination of ingredients that attract water to the skin and help to minimize the appearance of fine lines. And if you're a makeup wearer oil Control Lotion will help your makeup look fresh all day long.
Reply:IT MUST BE STOPPED!!!! i hate it. i use clean and clear oil absorbing sheets, because i get shiney. thanks for the lotion tip, lotion person...
Reply:I use Mary Kay Oil Mattifier. Clinique also has a t-zone shine control but it didn't work as well for me as the Mary Kay does. I've found the Clinique 3 step system helps with the shinyness, also.
Reply:Well, my bro says that eating chocolate and chips cause oiliness. Maybe cut back on that and other junk food?? But there are some skin care products that do remove the shininess. Neutrogena is REALLY good, Noxema is okay, and there's tons of other stuff out there too. There's also some sort of special paper which is supposed to work too. Just do some research and you'll find stuff. Or....just go to Walgreen's and see what there is!!
Reply:This means that ur t-zone is oily.i.e.if u notice ur forehead,ur nose and ur chin makes a "T"for this u need to check ur diet as well as ur skin.u need to drink lots of water everday and keep spl.the t-zone clean.u can use sandlewood pwdr mixed with multani mitti and rose water and apply on the prone area..use a good toner and astringent for ur skin.
Reply:I feel your pain. I have an oily T-zone, too. I wash my face in the morning and at night with an oil-free combination skin cleanser. In the morning, I then put on an oil-free moisturizer with SPF. After that, I use Mary Kay's oil mattifier on my forehead, nose and under my bottom lip. It doesn't dry your skin at all. I also tend to sweat easily, so I make sure to moisten a napkin and dab my forehead and nose in the middle of the day so my pores don't get so clogged.
Sometimes your T-zone could be more oily than other times because of hormonal changes (if it's that time of the month or near it). It can also be caused by stress or changes to your environment (hotter weather).
Reply:OK, you have combination skin. It's really not that uncommon or complicated. Just means that your T-zone (nose, forehead and chin) are oily; your cheeks may be normal or dry. You need to start a regime of skin care: wash twice a day, use toner especially on the oily parts, and moisturizer especially on the drier parts. Personally, I'm a fan of the Biotherm line, you can find it at Bath and Body Works (okay, so that's where I work and why I like it), but I'm not going to recommend specific products as such. You just need to find a brand you like, can afford, and will use regularly.
As for diet, it doesn't have that much to do with it, per se, as in eating junk food isn't going to make it worse. But drinking more water can never hurt.
