Can skin measuring 5.5 inches by 4.5 inches be removed from my upper-arm/ shoulder via excision? I have learned of "expanders" that plastic surgeons place beneath the skin and inflate with saline to stretch the skin. Would this enable me to have the area removed and if so what would the process include in detail, how long might the procedure take from having the expanders inserted until the complete removal?

What will 'probably' happen is they would excise it in stages. I'm not sure how much expanders would help. The general rule of the thumb is if you do the excision all at once, the length of the excision has to be 2-3 times the diameter of the lesion you are excising....in other words, at least 9 inches in your case.
Go see a plastic surgeon to get the best options. If it is a tattoo, there may be options other than excision. If you live in NE Ohio, I know a good one.

i dont really have oily skin but sometimes certain parts of my face are more oily. like my foehead in between my eyebrows and my nose? what can be done to stop this? especially because its not always this way, i figure perhaps its something in my diet?

In the morning, I then put on an oil-free moisturizer with SPF. After that, I use Mary Kay's oil mattifier on my forehead, nose and under my bottom lip. It doesn't dry your skin at all. I also tend to sweat easily, so I make sure to moisten a napkin and dab my forehead and nose in the middle of the day so my pores don't get so clogged.
Sometimes your T-zone could be more oily than other times because of hormonal changes (if it's that time of the month or near it). It can also be caused by stress or changes to your environment (hotter weather).

I don't like buying anything offline. So besides online where else can I find laptop skins to buy. Circuit City? Target? Staples? wal-mart? the mall? Anyone know of a store?

skins are a very "individual" addition (i.e. they vary from laptop to laptop) and i can't see how it would be lucrative for any store to carry the selection of so many different kinds. for example, my toshiba skin won't fit your dell laptop or vice versa.

I'm going to start school again soon and I need to buy a good foundation. My skin is medium with yellow/golden undertones. I want one that would control shine and leave my skin looking radiant. Here I have some that I have in mind.
Tell me which would be better but please don't say Bare Minerals or stuff like that because that's WAY too expensive for me.

Okay, DEFINATLY not Dream Matte Mousse. It is way to obvious when you have it on, and when it gets old, it gets chunky and it makes your face look chalky!

it is a shine-free foundation with H20, oil free.
it says it's 50% water, won't clog pores, flawless finish.
I have been using it since it came out and I am very happy with the results. It goes on very light, not oily AT ALL. and I have pretty greasy skin myself, and it works well for me.
You would definately love it if you find your pefect shade (if you can't, try blending two shades together!), to finish off the look, lightly dust your face with pressed powder, to help it set.

I'm not really sure what they're called but I need something to cover my laptop because it's getting kinda of scuffed up. I know some places sell decrotive skin and I'm wondering if this would protect, to some degree my laptop from superficial damage. They scratch %26amp; bite their skin/fur, sometimes until the place starts bleeding. One of them lost all the fur on her back; the fur is starting to grow back now cuz we used some glucosteroid cream. They also have hardened scales? skin? around their eyes. So their eyes arent as bright %26amp; round as they used to be. Have your guinea pigs had this problem? Please help. Thanks.

If you can't see anything crawling in the fur, then it could be mites. You can treat that with ivermectin or revolution (available through your vet). Mites tend to cause itchiness, hairloss, scabs %26amp; dandruff. They will also be more sensitive to touch.
If the skin is really flakey, then it could be ringworm. (which is transferable to humans!)
Check out these links, %26amp; then take your guinea pigs to an exotic vet for a proper diagnosis.

A veterinarian can confirm the diagnosis by direct examination of the haircoat. Direct examination is usually all that is necessary, though use of a microscope is very helpful. The veterinarian will usually prescribe an insecticidal shampoo to treat affected guinea pigs.
Lice can be transmitted by direct and intimate contact between infested and uninfested guinea pig Therefore, pet guinea pigs are very unlikely to harbor these parasites unless they are recent acquisitions that were previously in contact with louse-infested guinea pigs. Established pet guinea pigs could also be infested by being placed in close contact with new, infested guinea pigs. Guinea pig lice do not parasitize people.

1 pint of room temperature water
1 Tablespoon of Witchhazel
1 Tablespoon of Listerine (not flavored)

Apply the solution to the mite infected hamster externally with a washcloth or put the solution in a spray bottle and lightly spray the hamster while being careful to protect the eyes, nose and mouth. After you treat the hamster it is important to clean your hamster's cage and accessories thoroughly, change the bedding and spray the solution lightly in the cage and on the hamster's toys and accessories.
Witchhazel can often be found in grocery stores but is more commonly found at your local drug store.
Please note: This is not to be taken internally, it is a topical (on the skin) treatment.
UPDATE: According to Ken, the hamster guru, this recipe has been proven effective to treat mite infestations through a number of user testimonials. So rest easy young hamsterite, I think your hamster is gonna pull through!

Adequate levels of vitamin C are always included in the formulation of pelleted diets for guinea pigs. Often, however, handling and improper storage (exposure to light, heat and dampness) of the feed pellets results in loss of vitamin C. Therefore, even guinea pigs fed presumably reliable pelleted diets may develop scurvy if the diet's vitamin C content has been reduced or lost.
A veterinarian should be consulted if this disease is suspected so that the diagnosis can be confirmed. The veterinarian will prescribe a program of vitamin C supplementation (via food or water or injection) to reverse the signs.

lice can be usually killed off by suffication use vasoline or mayonaise or anything with a thick consistiancy comb through there fur to get rid of eggs
Guinea pigs cannot manufacture vitamin C and must receive an adequate supply of it from outside food sources. Vitamin C deficiency results in scurvy, which is characterized by inappetence, swollen, painful joints and ribs, reluctance to move, poor bone and teeth development, and spontaneous bleeding from the gums and into muscle.
Adequate levels of vitamin C are always included in the formulation of pelleted diets for guinea pigs. Often, however, handling and improper storage (exposure to light, heat and dampness) of the feed pellets results in loss of vitamin C. Therefore, even guinea pigs fed presumably reliable pelleted diets may develop scurvy if the diet's vitamin C content has been reduced or lost.
A veterinarian should be consulted if this disease is suspected so that the diagnosis can be confirmed. The veterinarian will prescribe a program of vitamin C supplementation (via food or water or injection) to reverse the signs.

I checked out the new advertised "skins" that Tom is adding as a new thing on myspace -- I checked it out by "clicking here" as it asked just to see what it was about -- and it SAVED my page like that -- I want it to go back to a plain page when I look at it -- like it was before -- how do I get rid of it????? Have you tried it??? HELP???!!! It doesn't give you a code or anything to delete.....ugggggg -- I don't see a "make it go away" button - ha ha ha.

Very itchy skin, what could it be?
im not allergic to anything at all ive not changed my washing powder, or anything my lifestyle is exactly the same, but my arms back legs and face have been extremly itchy, i am going for a biopsy on my mole soon, i may be silly saying this but could this be a sign of skin cancer?

It could be an allergic reaction to something youve recently ingested, could be prickly heat thats causes the itchyness. I wouldnt get too worked up over it, explain to your doctor whats happening and they will be able to diagnose better for you. It could be a case of giving you some type of cream to help with the itching and keep it under control.
Dermatitis affects everyone at some point in their lives, if your skin has slightly raised flaky patches it could be an early sign of Excema or even Psoriasis but a skin specialist will be able to determine what it is.
Good luck withe biopsy.
Reply:i just went to the dermotologist for dry extremely itchy skin that i would itch until it was raw, i was told i have eczema. The more you scratch the more it itches. I got some steroid cream and after 1 week ta-da i don't itch anymore and my rashes are gone.

Hello, I just got my new tat 3 days ago. I have been washing it and caring for it as directed. It started to scab today and I am noticing that the skin underneath seems to be really light in one area. He did a great job of coloring it in. I just want it to be really dark and sharp. Is it normal to have tattoos touched up a couple weeks after they have been done. I have two on my back, and they didn't seem to lose any color at all. This one is on my arm, so maybe the skin there won't hold the color as well as the ones on my back. Thank you so much!!! This tattoo is entirely black.

Do yourself and your tattoo artist a favor and not pay too much attention to the skin changes as your tattoo is healing. It will start looking pretty bad and some areas will appear lighter than others. Just let it go through its natural process and follow the aftercare instructions.
In 30 days you will have a beautiful fresh epidermal layer and will know how well the tattoo healed in.

We love to play skins, it keeps everyone in the game, no matter the total score. But we always have arguments with who get how many strokes. It鈥檚 just not fair, when money is involved, not to give some handicap.

I, too, have heard of the system whereby you only take a percentage of everyone's handicap and/or not giving strokes on par-3s as a way to even everything out.

when our group plays skins, we get half our handicap and i play with a group of pga professionals (golf course pros, playing as zeros) up to 16's. it seems to work out pretty fair.

If you use the USGA handicap system that basically takes 96% of you aggregate score then that's what you use. If you have a 6 handicap then you get a stroke on the six hardest handicap holes. If you have a 12 handicap the you get a stroke in the twelve hardest handicap holes. So on six of the most difficult holes both players play heads up. A definite advantage to the better golfer. The problem is that the better golfer hates to give money to the lesser golfer simply because of the skill-level difference. If you can fix that you'll have a great match.

Reply:You can mash 'em and stir in some of that bacon and cheese and a touch of garlic with a couple tablespoons of cream or half and half and make loaded mashed potatoes. Cover 'em airtight in the 'fridge if you want to store 'em overnight, otherwise they'll start turning black. That's harmless, but it sure don't look real appetizing!

seasons has a hot chocolate maker. and tempatures. and plantsims. and snowball fights. and snowmen you can make. it has outdoor clothes as well as some tropical clothing as well. new make-up comes with open for business. as far as objects go, there is some very homey stuff, and there is new furniture, such as homey stuff once again. you can also grow a garden. it rains and your sims can get too hot or too cold depending on how long they've been outside in the sun, or outside in the cold. there is also a penguin, he come's once you've made a complete snowman, but not every time. overall it's a good expansion pack. i would reccommend getting it. : ).

If a skin bleaching product for acne spots, says to leave in for an hour,then will overnight be bad?
i applied it only on the spots. do you think using it for over night or a few hours will be safe? im using "concha nacar". have you heard or used this product? how long did it take til you see results with this or another skin bleacher? will using overnight/few hours speed up the bleaching?? thank u

I know that with the majority of skin lightenting products they say that if you use them properly you will start to see results in 2 to 4 weeks and 8 weeks you will notice a definate change. Make sure you use sunblock on your face everyday (even if it's cloudy) to protect your skin from the suns UV Rays since these products (as well as acne products and anti-wrinkle ) cause your skin to be more sensitive to sun....also sun exposure can reverse the skin lightening effect.

i havent watched a tv show so intreguing..since ever.You UK people absolutly rock. its emotional but you guys dont overdo it like us aus and americans. absolutly fabulous.

save to pc then run programs note: if your trying to insatll cc that requires say OFB and you dont have it. it wont work. the clean sweaper will clean up your cc and the q express will put your downloads into the right file from site and right into your game no UNZIPPING required.

How do I download additional skins for the SBC Yahoo Browser v3?
I did numerous web searches and I can only find skins for Yahoo messenger. What sites have free skins to download for SBC Yahoo! Browser v3? I would prefer something purple.

i have a girlfriend who started messing with this guy but stopped when she noticed he had like round pieces of skin on his shaft and s.ack they were the same color as his p.enis and nothing seemed red or anything,she said maybe the size of half a deflated raisin..could this be a birthmark or is this maybe evidence of an old std?

Could this be the sole reason for my bad skin all of a sudden?
My skin is so bad recently that my mom even commented on it when I come home for the holiday. Recently, I've had a really great yet extremely taxing opportunity to apprentice for a world class chef. I work ridiculous hours, fourteen on average and only Sunday off, and although I wash and moisturize my face regularly, in other words I try and take care of it, lately I feel like my skin is just awful only after an hour or so after washing. Additionally, even though I am a chef, my diet is not too good these days because there is hardly any time to eat, and when there is I find myself eating fast food outside the restaurant because I don't want to waste any time. So anyway, this whole situation is made even more depressing due to there being a girl with absolute porcelain skin I know, and although I love my job and don't complain elsewise, I feel less and less confident being with her. I am asian, Korean to be exact, and both my parents have good skin, my mom especially.
Could this be the sole reason for my bad skin all of a sudden?
Have you considered the grease and the condensation from all the steam in the kitchen floating around and landing on your skin? I know it sounds disgusting but a kitchen environment is not that great for skin--it's hot, humid and there's lots of stuff steaming and frying away that floats in the air. Usually long hours and poor diet don't wreak that much havoc alone on one's skin.

What could be causing dry skin on my elbows?
In the last couple weeks I have noticed that my elbows have become really dry, crusty and itchy. I even have been putting lotion on it but it doesn't really seem to help. I haven't really noticed any other areas of dry skin anywhere so I am wondering if there are conditions that that might be a symptom of or is it just dry skin and nothing to worry about???

That sounds like a localized form of eczema or psoriasis. My father has it on his elbows, I had it on my feet for a while. There is a cream that a Dr. can prescribe to help get rid of it. Sometimes it's caused by genetics, stress to the area, or mental stress. Go try some gold bond medicated itch cream to help until you can see a doctor.

My doggies skin is sick . What could it be ?
Overnight my bulldog got some bums ,pimples and rushes . What could it be ?
Tomorrow i go with her to the vet with her , but i am still curious .
She is on Heartguard ,Frontline and of course she is up to date with all her shots .
She don't sleep outside and i feed her Canidae and on some days Raw Meat .
It is also itching her and my poor doggie is licking her paws .The irration is on the paws , legs and belly .
She is 1,5 y old and had never any skin problems , was never sick .
The only extraordinary thing that happend ,was that i I gave her on Friday a big slice of fresh pineapple (without th peel ).
Bigger then usual because she liked it so much .

No, it's not just dry skin. (please!) Benedryl (antihistamine) should help. If it's only on her paws, legs and belly then that should indicate it could be coming from the lawn outside... perhaps she walked through some grass that has been fertilized. (?) Otherwise you would think the irritation would be everywhere. If you touch Poison ivy with your arm and your foot swells, chances are it's not from the poison ivy on your arm... On the other hand, if you touch poison ivy and your arm itches, you don't blame the breakfast you ate several days ago.
Allergies can occur at any age to anything. So just because she wasn't allergic yesterday, doesn't necessarily mean she's not today. So a walk in a chemically treated lawn may just now start to effect her. If she were allergic to the pineapple, I would imagine she would have an all over irritation. Raw meat would usually cause stomach problems before skin problems (And who said raw meat is not good for dogs? What do you think they ate before big corporation began manufacturing dog food?!?) Tomorrow should be fine but you must watch her closely.. if she is only itching and licking, the Benedryl will help until tomorrow... if she is sick (fever, vomiting, etc.) you should consider taking her sooner.
Nevertheless, I would give her a soothing cool bath in case there is a chemical on her skin to help wash some of it off before she injests any more of it by either licking or through skin absorption. It certainly wouldn't hurt. I bet it helps her feel better too.
(Baby shampoo or oatmeal shampoo would be best)

Reply:You should put 1 tsp of applecider vinegar in each bowl of water you pour for her. Go to your local health store and get a bottle of Bragg's applecider vinegar..
Then you take a pail of warm water and mix it 50/50
with Braggs and water.. You get a towel and you wipe her down.. Do this 2-3 times a week..
You get her system back to PH.. and get her skin healthy... In about a month's time you should really start to see some results..

Reply:Bulldogs are known for skin problems, Bulldogs are also known to have very strong allergic reactions. When my bulldog gets irritated skin, I give him 4 pink tabs of benadryl. Usually helps calm the irritation.
Reply:You need to keep the inside fat rolls clean and dry.Also you should not be feeding it raw meat and fruit.This is bad for dogs,they are not people and have a different digestive system.Your dog may have some sort of mite and it may be getting into some fertilizer that is deadly to dogs.You need to give him a bath with a medicated shampoo for dogs and dry him good.Let the vet know what you are feeding him and I bet he wont be happy.

Reply:my bulldog gets hives all the time give him 2 benedryl tablets (I WRAP MINE IN CHEESE OR HAM SLICE)that will help her itching.your vet will probably perscribe a steroid of some kind like prednosone or something but they are not good for her to take over long periods of time(could be the pineaple)
Tomorrow i go with her to the vet with her , but i am still curious .
She is on Heartguard ,Frontline and of course she is up to date with all her shots .
She don't sleep outside and i feed her Canidae and on some days Raw Meat .
It is also itching her and my poor doggie is licking her paws .The irration is on the paws , legs and belly .
She is 1,5 y old and had never any skin problems , was never sick .
The only extraordinary thing that happend ,was that i I gave her on Friday a big slice of fresh pineapple (without th peel ).
Bigger then usual because she liked it so much .

No, it's not just dry skin. (please!) Benedryl (antihistamine) should help. If it's only on her paws, legs and belly then that should indicate it could be coming from the lawn outside... perhaps she walked through some grass that has been fertilized. (?) Otherwise you would think the irritation would be everywhere. If you touch Poison ivy with your arm and your foot swells, chances are it's not from the poison ivy on your arm... On the other hand, if you touch poison ivy and your arm itches, you don't blame the breakfast you ate several days ago.
Allergies can occur at any age to anything. So just because she wasn't allergic yesterday, doesn't necessarily mean she's not today. So a walk in a chemically treated lawn may just now start to effect her. If she were allergic to the pineapple, I would imagine she would have an all over irritation. Raw meat would usually cause stomach problems before skin problems (And who said raw meat is not good for dogs? What do you think they ate before big corporation began manufacturing dog food?!?) Tomorrow should be fine but you must watch her closely.. if she is only itching and licking, the Benedryl will help until tomorrow... if she is sick (fever, vomiting, etc.) you should consider taking her sooner.
Nevertheless, I would give her a soothing cool bath in case there is a chemical on her skin to help wash some of it off before she injests any more of it by either licking or through skin absorption. It certainly wouldn't hurt. I bet it helps her feel better too.
(Baby shampoo or oatmeal shampoo would be best)

It took me a few days before I realized that my boy was allergic to lawn chemicals. He brushed against a treated bush then itchy areas only on the right side of his body when I figure it out. He used a litter box for the next 8 yrs of his life. Take care! :-) Report It
Reply:Watch carefully what she is touching and you will find your source of irritation. My boy was perfectly fine on UNTREATED grass so you may need to watch her reactions at several locations. Welcome to USA! Report It

Reply:You should put 1 tsp of applecider vinegar in each bowl of water you pour for her. Go to your local health store and get a bottle of Bragg's applecider vinegar..
Then you take a pail of warm water and mix it 50/50
with Braggs and water.. You get a towel and you wipe her down.. Do this 2-3 times a week..
You get her system back to PH.. and get her skin healthy... In about a month's time you should really start to see some results..
