What could be causing dry skin on my elbows?

In the last couple weeks I have noticed that my elbows have become really dry, crusty and itchy. I even have been putting lotion on it but it doesn't really seem to help. I haven't really noticed any other areas of dry skin anywhere so I am wondering if there are conditions that that might be a symptom of or is it just dry skin and nothing to worry about???
What could be causing dry skin on my elbows?
That sounds like a localized form of eczema or psoriasis. My father has it on his elbows, I had it on my feet for a while. There is a cream that a Dr. can prescribe to help get rid of it. Sometimes it's caused by genetics, stress to the area, or mental stress. Go try some gold bond medicated itch cream to help until you can see a doctor.

Psoriasis or eczema but try using a hydra cortisone cream three times a day.
Reply:Itching and dry skin are common characteristics of eczema and psoriasis. Have it check by your doctor to be sure of your symptoms. Meanwhile, you can try keeping your body hydrated and healthy, and also moisturize your skin especially the affected area with something that won't irritate your skin.
