I am going to the doctor to have it checked but just wondered if anyone knows anything about this. I have a small white spot under my right eye. I've had it for a really long time but it seems to be getting bigger. It's raised a little bit. Not like a zit or anything. It's just lighter than the rest of my skin.
Could this be skin cancer?
It could be skin cancer. I had a small white dot on my nose and it was precancerous. It is taken care of now. Only your dermatologist can tell for sure. Don't worry, if it is, it can be fixed. Just glad you are going. It also could be something as simple as a whitehead.....don't panic!
Could this be skin cancer?
No but see your DR anyway. I had a clear, pinkish little bump on my scalp for YEARS until it got in the way of combing my hair so I had it removed.
Reply:Possibility is less....
Reply:Could be but the symptoms don't sound right
Reply:Could be, but I doubt it.
Reply:Not cancer, that is usually dark brown or a brownish red color. That is probably nothing to worry about, just a natural skin blemish.
Reply:yes it very well could be....any discoloration of the skin could be cancer......its not so much if it is raised....you have to go by the shape.....if it has jagged edges then beware......but if it is a perfect circle then more than likely not to be cancer
Reply:no i had one before i never knew what it was but it went away, have you ever had a black head well i think it's similar to one except it's called a white head.
Reply:you're fine. those are fatty tissue cumulatives. Sometimes they go away all by themselves. And even if not, they're benign :)
You should try avoiding the circle areas of your eyes though when applying general face creams or cleansing gels. Only use eye creams. All other types of creams will increase the likelihood of developing more those little yellow dots.
Reply:It does not sound like skin cancer to me. Most skin cancer has a color to it. They can be different shapes. It could be a fatty tumor, skin tag or a cysts. They are common.
Reply:hmm well my boyfriend has alot of small white bumps under/around his eyes. they are also raised and are not zits. he says he's had them all of his life but when he got a facial once to treat some of his acne at the dermatologists office the woman took a needle and pulled them out (the larger ones) he said they are liek small hard balls. sounds painful! =(
its also lighter than his skin.
usually some moles on your body can be cancerous always use sunscreen no matter where you go.what you do, and even if its cloudy outside to protect yourself! =).
so you may just have what my bf has, sorry but i dont know what they're claeed =(
im sure you will be fine though. Let me know what it is though! im curious. =)
Reply:My friend may have the same thing perhaps, he asked the doctor about it and the doctor told him some fats nothing to worry. But if this continues to get bigger this might be a skin desease like vitiligo. If Vitiligo, you can't do anything about it.
Reply:It mitgh be a deasease named VITILIGO. it is not dangerous, but it can not be treated. you can live with it but the spot on your skin could become bigger and could apear in many patrs of your body. it doesn't hurt, only your skin become white, not over all your body but in some parts.Anyway, is better for you to see a doctor.
Reply:No. it is not Cancer at all. it is - LEUCODERMA, also called Vitiligo.
Vitiligo or leukoderma is a chronic skin condition that causes loss of pigment, resulting in irregular pale patches of skin. The precise etiology of the disease is complex and not fully understood. There is some evidence suggesting it is caused by a combination of auto-immune, genetic and environmental factors.
I have not come across any treatment for this, though Doctors may prescribe some medicine lotion etc., and I do not know how far it will be effective e. But is it a harmless disease only giving an ugly and eye-catching look. See what your doctor says.
Reply:I would not worry about it so much unless the doctor gives you reason for concern. It could be a stye. Actualy it sounds like a stye. Those are usualy cured with some meds. from your doctor. Relax see your doctor and update us to let us all know things went well. Good luck
Reply:Probably a cholesteatoma, a deposit of lipid in the skin about the eye lids.
