Do you consider Beyonce to be dark skinned? I just asked this question on Yahoo India and the response was yes

yet in the West she is considered to be a light skinned black woman at least by black people such as myself.


How I have come to ask this question is really because of a post I saw originally on that site today stating that Beyonce and Naomi were dark skinned, so I then posted my own question on Yahoo India to ask is this how Indian's consider Beyonce and the answer was overwhelmingly yes..

She is light skinned, but you have to understand that some of the people who belong to those cultures have issues with skin color. They place those with very light skin or even those who more closely resemble European features in higher regard than those whose skin might be darker. If anyone doesn't believe me, look at the Bollywood stars that they idolize such as Aishwariya Rai.

i have seen beyonce knowles in person, backstage 3 times. she is a light coloured black woman. you could say she look like a mixed race black. but by God is she beautifull !

Reply:I consider Beyonce to be quite light-skinned if you ask me. Dear, do realize not all Indian people consider Beyonce as dark...that's all I'm saying. Besides there are far darker people in India than her.
Reply:She was much much darker when she first started, but like most celebrities, ie: Michael Jackson, Oprah, and Halle Berry they go through skin softening or bleaching treatments to make them more of a carmel color.





Kinda funny how white people tan and black people bleach. I guess the grass is always greener.
