How do you get Yahoo messinger skins to work?

I have downloaded several different yahoo skins off the internet and put them in the skins folder and they are not working. I was wondering if there is something I'm not doing right to make them work correctly. Any advise would be wonderful.. Thanks for your time.

and not showing up in your Skins list via


Yahoo! Messenger,


click on the Messenger menu


select Change Skin


list of available skins





then i wouldnt say it's you doing anything wrong :) my only suggestion would be to make sure that the skins you are downloading and installing are compatible with the version of Yahoo Messenger than you are running, there have been some huge skin / template changes across the versions and as such there is no backwards / forwards compatibility with many
