Should Kangaroos be killed to market their skin & body parts?

Millions of kangaroos are shot for their skins every year in Australia. According to Australian government code, orphaned joeys and wounded adults should be killed by decapitation or by being hit sharply on the head "to destroy the brain." When hunters kill a mother kangaroo who has a baby in her pouch, the baby is often yanked from the mother's lifeless body and stomped to death or left to writhe in agony. Please take a moment to speak out against SB 880 which allows the sale of body parts and skin in Ca.: The Honorable Arnold Schwarzenegger鈥℅overnor of Californiagovernor@governor.ca.gov聽

NO!! only reason u should use their skin is if u find them dead, as of natural causes!!

There could be more humane ways to kill a Kangaroo no doubt.

However in parts of Australia they are in plague proportions, and destroying crops of land owners so sadly culling them is the only option.
Reply:Any time one has to 'cull' it should be done humanely. What was descibed here is NOT humane!
Reply:If there is a population problem, then yes, a culling is necessary, so long as it is done humanely. Allowing the population to get to a point where the animals "overgraze" could lead to mass starvation for the animals, so while killing some of them off might seem cruel, it's actually more humane than allowing them to breed like rabbits.
Reply:The other answers are correct...in Australia they are a problem due to over-population and culling is necessary. I don't agree with how it is done though. It should be done much more humanely. I'm biased as well, since I currently am raising a red kangaroo named Boomer. He's like my son and thinks he's a cat. He sleeps with me right now. No roo skins for me!!!
Reply:Schwarzeneeger is a Nazi anyway so that is no suprise. Hopefully his steroid abuse will catch up with him soon and that problem will be solved.
