I have downloaded new yahoo messenger skins...i cant get them to load on my messenger.?

i saved them to C:programfiles/yahoo!/messenger/skins...... that right? said i should save um and go to pref then click on change skin and it would be in drop down..guess what? its NOT!!! can anyone help me pleaseeeeeeeeeeee.....??? thanks!! sxyjgfan

聽聽聽If the skins you have downloaded do not show up on the list for you to choose from that means they were not properly installed. This is usually caused by the fact that not all skins load themselves into the correct folder when you unzip the file. The skins you can download from Yahoo! will install properly if you follow the directions, the trouble usually occurs with other, non-Yahoo! skins.





聽聽聽Skins show up as a .zip file when you download them. You need to unzip (often called extract) them to the proper location for them to work. The correct location to find your Skins files would be a folder named after the Skin, found in C:\ Program Files\ Yahoo! \Shared \Graphics If in this location you do not see a folder with the name of the skin you downloaded then it did not install properly.





聽聽聽To test if it will extract to the proper location on it's own, double click the .zip file you downloaded. If it opens to show a folder named Program Files which you can open to show one called Yahoo! which opens to one called Shared, then it should be fine if you just extract the .zip file to the location C:\





聽聽聽If you double click the .zip file and it opens to show a folder named after the skin then you will have to manually enter the location information to be sure it goes to the right place. Try right clicking the .zip file, selecting "extract all files" (or the equivalent in your zip program) then selecting the location C:\ Program Files\ Yahoo! \Shared \Graphics\ as the folder to which the files will be extracted
