Trying to add new messenger skins to version 8?
I am having the exact same problem, and I've read that a lot of other users are as well. The pat answer that pops up is in regards to the downloaded files physical location, and NOT how to correctly implement the skins when they DO NOT show up in your options AFTER correctly downloading and installing them.
I believe this is a larger YM v8 bug that needs to be addressed by Yahoo itself. I would go to Yahoo Messenger help and fill out a form to send in to alert them to this.

You can download a new skin from:
http://messenger.yahoo.com/feat_skins.ph...
Also the files for the skins are located at this folder:
c:\program files\yahoo!\Shared\Graphics\
This folder may change depending on installation folder and locale settings.
This also helps.
Go for removal of history of items on your search bar
On the right side of the bar before you get to the web search button click on the bar (you may have to click it a few times) will open a drop down box that will bring you at the front of items you searched for.
Place your mouse pointer over the first item and you will see it highlight. Do not click the item just leave your mouse where it is and hit the delete button on your keyboard. The item will vanish and the next will take its place and become highlighted. Just keep hitting the delete button and watch them go away.
This will work for any browser.
To delete address bar history, follow this path. Tools%26gt; internet options%26gt; general %26gt; clear history %26gt; set the number of days to zero%26gt; ok.
Are you using window blinds or alien guise or some other window enhancement program? e.g. programs that add extra buttons like transparency and keep always on top or change the look of the windows in anyway (not including standard XP themes)
if so disable it and yahoo should work..
Do a search on http://www.wackyb.com for window blinds
This is sometimes a flash issue, make sure you have download and installed flash from Internet explorer (not any other browser)
