Should All Parents be made to watch Channel Four show Skins as the most realistic depiction of UK teenagers?

Should All Parnents be made to watch Channel Four show Skins as the most realistic depiction of UK teenagers

Like homeworks as many appear not to know what a teenager is and only understand the concept of little child or fully mature experienced adult.

What i saw in this series is very accurate (except gangster culture and many i knew in school were far more yobish... but from late 15 onwards ultra realisitc... mates where more rocker types but most in college just like this.

Inc all the language, thinking, making out, drugs, sex attiudes to teacher and later in the series tescher student relationships.

So should all parents of children ie teenagers to be and parents be made to watch it,.

NOTE if you catch this... Its startys today and is on c4 now ...

But is being repeatet in a few minutes on Channel four + 1 on cable/ st etc

Probably! Almost definately.

I am from the U.S., but I will tell you this - we old people know more about the teen culture than you think. I graduated high school in 1980 and very little has changed when it comes to the core of teen culture. There was just as much sex, drugs, rock n roll and foul language as ever.

There are some changes in the pop culture and sex has taken on a different level of "openness". But, as I said, the core of teen culture is basically the same as always. The thing with parents is that we actually do know what it is all about and desire to protect our children from the hazards and dangers we know (too well) exist out there.
Reply:ha ha I'd love to see that! but then again I'm not like that and my mother needs no encouragement to think i am!
Reply:I'm 54 next week, have a 15 year old...and we watch "Skins"together! It's so funny....he's explaining the gags and stuff to me...and I can see him in some of those situations!

Love it; it opens up new ways of communicating...and , yes, I agree; viewing should be compulsory for all parents!lol
